Polyurethane is abbreviated as spring glue, which stands for polyurethane or isocyanate polymer. The English name is polyurethane. It is a polymer material, an elastomer between plastic and rubber.

Polyurethane is a new type of organic polymer material, known as the "fifth largest plastic" because of its excellent properties, and is widely used in many fields of the national economy. Product application areas include light industry, chemical industry, electronics, textiles, medicine, construction, building materials, automobiles, national defense, aerospace, aviation, etc.

Polyurethane can be processed in a number of ways.

(1) Polyurethane can be molded by injection molding, extrusion molding, calendering, blow molding and other processes such as ordinary plastics (see CPU).

For example, hardness is often an important indicator of user products. Polyurethane elastomers can be soft printed rubber rolls with a Shore A hardness of about 20 or hard rolled steel rubber rolls with a Shore D hardness of 70 or higher. Ordinary elastomer materials are difficult to make and can adapt to the needs of different users.

Polyurethane elastomers are polar polymer materials composed of many flexible and rigid segments. As the ratio of rigid segments increases and the density of polar groups increases, the green strength and hardness of the elastomers also increase accordingly.

2. Excellent wear resistance.

In the presence of water, oil and other wetting media, the wear resistance of polyurethane casters is usually several to dozens of times that of ordinary rubber materials. Metal materials such as steel are very hard, but not always wear-resistant. Other materials include rubber rollers for rice mills, vibrating screens for coal preparation, sports field racing cars, dynamic oil seal rings for cranes and forklifts, elevator wheels and rollers.

Polyurethane elastomers began to be used in skate wheels, etc. One thing that needs to be mentioned here is to increase the friction coefficient of the low and medium hardness polyurethane elastomer parts and improve the wear resistance under load. A small amount of aluminum disulfide can be added to this type.
